Work In Progress LLC ("WIP") makes Gui. This page tells you what Gui collects about you, why, and how to remove it. If you have a question, send an email to hello@usegui.com.
Your projects stay on your Mac
Gui runs your app and your agent on your Mac. Gui does not send your code, your files, your chats, or your screenshots to us. The Gui app does not collect analytics or usage data. The only exception is crash reports, below.
Your agent (for example Claude Code or Codex) sends your prompts and code to the company that makes it, under that company's terms. You sign in to the agent with your own account. Gui does not see or keep your agent's credentials.
Crash reports
When Gui has an error or a part of Gui stops, Gui sends a crash report to us. It contains the error message, where in Gui's code the error occurred, the Gui and macOS versions, the type of Mac processor, your country, and the date. Gui removes your user name from file paths before it sends the report. A crash report does not contain your code, your files, your chats, or the pages that you preview. We use crash reports only to repair Gui. To stop them, turn off Send crash reports in Gui, under Settings → Account.
Your Gui account
To use Gui, you sign in with Google, GitHub, or a code sent to your email. WorkOS runs the sign-in page for us. We keep:
- Your email address and your name, as the sign-in service gives them to us.
- An ID from WorkOS, so that we know it is you next time.
- When you made the account and when you last signed in.
- Whether you get emails about Gui. This is on when you make an account, and you can turn it off.
- A record of each Mac that is signed in. We keep only a hash of its sign-in token, not the token.
GitHub
If you connect GitHub, we keep your GitHub user name and the access tokens that let Gui clone and push the repositories that you choose and open pull requests. We encrypt the tokens. Gui gets access only to the repositories that you select on GitHub. You can disconnect GitHub in Gui, under Settings → GitHub, and revoke Gui's access on GitHub.
We send sign-in emails when you ask for them. When you make a Gui account, you agree that Work In Progress LLC can send you emails about Gui and our other products, such as new features, news, and offers. To stop them, turn them off in Gui, under Settings → Account, or use the unsubscribe link in any of these emails. Sign-in and account emails still come when you need them.
The website
If you sign up for the Windows and Linux waitlist on usegui.com, we keep your email address, the platform that you select, your country, and the date. We use your address only to tell you when Gui is available for that platform.
When you download Gui from usegui.com, we count the download. We keep the date, your country, and the website that sent you (only its name, not the full address). We do not keep your IP address, and we cannot use this record to identify you.
Who processes your data
The Gui account service and usegui.com run on Cloudflare, which stores the data above. WorkOS runs sign-in: it keeps a record of your sign-in (your email, your name, and how you sign in) and sends sign-in codes. Google and GitHub process your sign-in under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.
Remove your data
To delete your Gui account and all the data above, send an email to hello@usegui.com from the address on your account. Signing out in Gui removes the sign-in from that Mac only. To remove your address from the waitlist, send an email to the same address.
Changes
If we change this page, we change the date at the top.
